Completed Projects

azolla-production-project

We had completed a project on Azolla production with training and demonstration in 10 villages of Distt. Haridwar under Distt. Innovation Fund with support of U.K. Govt. We were also popularized other organic manure as Matka Khad, Amritghol and Punchgabya under the same. We were implemented this scheme through Kisan clubs which were already working in this area. All the activities proposed under this project were totally new for this area.

Azolla is a fodder with high vitamin content and it is produced in a pit filled with water. It is used as green fodder and we serve it with dry fodder. Due to rich vitamin content it increases the milk production in milking animals.

In the same way Amritghol, Matkakhad and Panchagabya are the very effective organic manure and a good alternate of chemical fertilizer. Farmers are adopting these techniques very frequently. We had constructed 10 Azolla pits in Bahadarabad & Laxar block of Haridwar, where Azolla is being produced very successfully. Farmers from other villages are coming to see it. Looking the success of this programme now U.K. Govt. has planned to popularise the Azolla through Agriculture & Animal Husbandry Deptt. This is a matter of pride for us.
